The “Girls in STEM” branch has confirmed its status for the 2023-2024 academic year.

The branch team, based at the Department of Telecommunications Systems, submitted a report on its activities for the 2023-2024 academic year, thereby confirming the branch’s status and obtaining a confirming certificate. Branch coordinators summarized the results of the past year and created a plan of initiatives for the upcoming year. The #GirlsInSTEM branch at the Department of Telecommunications Systems has been operating since 2020, annually confirming its status.

Professor Oleg Viktorovich Zubkov of the Department of Telecommunications Systems was awarded an honorary diploma from the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration during a meeting of the University’s Academic Council.

The first Webometrics Ranking of World Universities for this year has been published. The aim of the ranking is to increase the presence of universities on the Internet and promote the open publication of research results.

As of January 2024, Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics holds the 6th position among 299 Ukrainian higher educational institutions, rising from 7th place in 2023. Globally, KhNURE occupies the 2427th place, in Europe – 853rd, and leads among Kharkiv universities.

In these days of festive anticipation, when hearts are filled with hope and the spirit of Christmas, we cannot ignore the complex reality that defines the current situation in Ukraine. Against the challenges and concerns gripping our country, let us turn to spiritual resilience and inner strength that allow us to remain united in all times.

From October 9 to December 1, 2023, Sviatoslav Starokozhev, a master’s student from the MTS department, successfully completed the training course “Startup Development Technologies and Youth Entrepreneurship Launch” offered by Tech StartUp School. The course was conducted as part of the USAID project “Economic Support for Ukraine.”

The aim of the course is to promote the development of entrepreneurial potential among young people, prepare them for a successful career in the startup and entrepreneurship field, and stimulate innovative thinking and economic growth.

On December 9, the All-Ukrainian engineering hackathon SmaRTF’2023: SMART MILITARY ELECTRONICS 2.0 took place at the Faculty of Radio Engineering of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

The university team included Alexander Datsenko, a graduate student from the Department of MTS (Faculty of Infocommunication and Radio Engineering), Yevheniy Levchenko, a graduate student from the Department of MEEPP (Faculty of Electronics and Biomedical Engineering), Olga Kravchuk, a lecturer from the Department of FOET (Faculty of Opto-telecommunication and Electronic Technology), and Alexander Gnatyenko, the head of the FOET department.

In Ukraine, an engineering online course called “People’s FPV” has been launched for assembling and configuring FPV drones. Alexander Datsenko, a graduate student from the department, participated in this initiative.

The course was initiated by the Victory Drones project team in collaboration with the Ukrainian drone manufacturer Vyriy Drone.
