What is AUTOSAR?
AUTomotive Open System ARchitecture (AUTOSAR) is a modern structure and standard for the automotive electronics ecosystem. It is created and managed by an alliance of such industry giants as BMW, Toyota, GM, Chrysler, Continental, Boch, Daimler, Volkswagen and many others.
How does AUTOSAR work?
AUTOSAR is based on the C language. This framework separates software logic from hardware. AUTOSAR also encapsulates communication via CAN and LIN buses common to modern cars. Although formally the framework is open source, the alliance clearly defines the rules of membership. Therefore, the threshold for entering the sphere is quite high. For example, a tool to start developing an AUTOSAR-based software component costs up to $ 20,000.

- Basic knowledge of modern architectures of microcontrollers and operating system kernels. However, the lack of microcontroller programming experience is not a blocker.
