Congratulations on World Telecommunications and Information Society Day
May 17 marks World Telecommunications and Information Society Day. Until 2006, this day was celebrated as International Telecommunication Day or World Telecommunication Day. This holiday has been celebrated since 1969 by the decision of the session of the Administrative Council of the International Telecommunication Union. The date of the celebration was chosen because on May 17, 1865, the first international telegraph agreement was signed in Paris, and it was then that the International Telegraph Union was founded.
The purpose of the holiday is to help raise awareness about information and communication technologies.
This year’s World Telecommunication and Information Society Day is dedicated to the theme “Ensuring the positive results of the use of artificial intelligence for all”, which should highlight the potential of artificial intelligence to accelerate the achievement of sustainable development goals set by the UN by 2030.
Congratulations to all who participate in the field of information and communication technologies with the holiday and we wish you success, introduction of new ideas and achievements!
